About

The XConnected PC Barcode reader is an android application to emulate a wireless barcode reader for your computer, using your device's camera. It can fill any purpose for which you would need a real barcode reader.

With a wide customization of termination characters, pre- and postfixes it can replace almost any costly wired or wireless barcode scanner.

On your computer, you need to install the XConnected Desktop Server App to receive the barcodes scanned in the app.

The application is offered as a free trial, with daily scan limit, which can be unlocked by a one time in-app payment.

  • Network connection, local or otherwise, between your two devices
First, make sure the XConnected Desktop Server App is running on your computer. You can find it's icon on the system tray, near the clock.
If your phone and PC are on the same network, the PC Barcode Reader android application should find it automatically, and your computer's name and IP address should be visible in the Available Servers list.
Otherwise, use the + button in the bottom right corner of the application to manually enter the address of your computer.
Once the desired computer is in the Available Servers list tap it to connect.
Any windows application which accepts keyboard input. The XConnected PC Barcode Reader and real barcode readers work by emulating a keyboard, and sending keypresses to the system.
Most of the one dimensional product and industrial standards are supported.

Yes! You can read QR codes, data matrix, aztec and PDF417 codes. Check your settings to make sure they are enabled.
In the free version you may send over 30 barcodes a day to your computer. The limit resets at midnight every day.
You may unlock the full version through an in-app purchase.
Yes! You have to manually specify your computers external IP address. Note that if you computer is behind a firewall or router, you may need to forward the used port (default 34520).
You can see and resend the latest 200 barcodes.
